Hi all, would just like to say what a great forum I think this is and what a marvelous job Annette and Karen do with the advice tips etc.
I would like to share with you, the diary I made for the raw weaning of a litter, I was always frustrated when I began to feed RAW as there wasn't much in the way of a food plan for weaning out there, the ones I did find I didn't like and so I thought this may be helpful to any of you who would like to RAW wean, but are a little nervous of it.
This is the plan we use for all our litters and it has proved sucessful over and over again, I hope you find it helpful.

You will also find the diary of a puppy which came to us at the age of 7 weeks and had been completely commercially fed, read her swapover diary, the problems we encountered and how we solved them

Lastly, for those of you who have RAW weaned that are looking for a book which is not going to overwhelm or confuse your puppy owners, check out my book - The Dog's Dinner, this will have them feeding with confidence in no time and can be found here :-

I think this is a very well written peice of work, I issue something similar to my puppy people and most of the time they have carried on with raw feeding , though on the odd occasion I have had frantic phone calls from people who have just visited the vet with their new puppy and have received a tonguelashing if not from their vet , the vet nurse. I just encourage them to make the right noises while at the vet and carry on as before.
The last one I got was from puppy people who were told that they would probably lose their puppy to food poisoning because of all the germs and E-Coli present in such a diet.
I have to say this kind of reaction still manages to make my blood boil. _________________ Linda with the Cockery Dogglies |
